Emily Boles

Emily Boles is a member of the local Abenaki community and a traditional basket maker. She is a graduate of environmental science.

 

Emily co-leads White River Land Collaborative’s Forest Project and uses Traditional Knowledge, Indigenous Practices, and principles from ecology and conservation to guide her in caring for the land.

Suzanne Long

As co-owner and farmer at Luna Bleu Farm for over 35 years, Suzanne has strong ties to the local farm community in general, and the organic farming and CSA movement in the region specifically.

 

Suzanne connects the White River Land Collaborative’s work with other farmers and local food system organizations

Shona Sanford-Long

Shona grew up in this community on Luna Bleu Farm, and is the daughter of Suzanne Long. She is the owner of Flying Dog Farm, a regenerative, certified organic livestock farm which she began with her husband Hugo Yanez in 2020. Since 2021 Flying Dog Farm has been based on the Tunbridge Farm that is White River Land Collaborative’s first affordable land access project

Earl Hatley

Earl is a citizen of the Abenaki Nation of Missisquoi (Shawnee, Cherokee), and serves as President of Ottauquechee Water Protectors Assoc., a non-profit that established and manages an Abenaki agricultural project that feeds needy Abenaki while sharing Abenaki growing techniques and culture with the public. His graduate degrees include Political Science and Environmental Science. Earl also serves on the boards of Rural Vermont, Vermont Healthy Soils Coalition, Building A Local Economy (BALE) and the VT Environmental Justice Network's Steering Committee.

Dan Ruddell

Rudi is a Tunbridge resident and conservation scientist with broad knowledge in water quality, ecosystems, and forestry.

 

He works for the White River Partnership and co-leads White River Land Collaborative’s Forest Management Project with Emily Boles.

Liz Williams

Liz is a Tunbridge resident and avid proponent of sustainable food systems. She has 15 years of experience in project leadership and operations and provides operational support to the White River Land Collaborative.
